Congregation Etz Chaim Hosts Bone Marrow Drive to Save Lives

Aug. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Artisans at the Etz will host a donor recruitment drive to register potential bone marrow donors at Congregation Etz Chaim on behalf of Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. The drive will benefit patients suffering from various blood cancers and diseases who are in need of a bone marrow transplant. . The drive, scheduled on 11th of November, will run from 11am to 4pm.
All members of the community are encouraged to participate in the drive. It’s fast and painless, and although there is no cost for a volunteer to join, there is a $54 lab processing fee for each kit. Gift of Life relies on the generosity of donations to help offset these costs. If you are between the ages of 18 and 60 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.
