Two New Judges Added To The 2012 Miss Black Collegiate Usa Scholarship Pageant

Miss Black Collegiate USA Scholarship Pageant™ announces two phenomenal new judges. Ms. Cas Sigers, a professional writer, and producer for film and television, and Dr. Geneva H. Baxter, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Spelman College.

Aug. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- (August 23, 2012 – Atlanta, Georgia) It is with great pleasure that the executive staff of the Miss Black Collegiate USA Scholarship Pageant ™ announces two phenomenal new judges to the pageant.  Ms. Cas Sigers, a native of North Carolina, is a professional writer, and producer for film and television, and an author.  In 2005, Nina Holiday Entertainment was created, with business partner, actress, Terri J. Vaughn.  The entertainment company was created with the purpose of developing feature film and television projects.   In 2006, Nina Holiday produced and shot the feature film Angels Can’t Help But Laugh, a documentary on the lives of 25 black Hollywood actresses. As a writer, Sigers has also optioned several screenplays including the feature film, A Cross to Bear, for the GMC network.  This film stars Kim Fields, Malinda Williams and Jackie Long.  

As a producer, Sigers has worked with national shows, Welcome to Dreamland, Platinum House, and Tiny & Toya.  Most recently, Sigers is the associate director for the TV-One series Verses & Flow and the supervising producer for BET/Centric’s music documentary series As Written.   She also served as the script supervisor for the Mo’Nique Show.   She is currently writing and producing movies of the month for the GMC network, some of which included Sugar Mommas and If You Really Love Me. In the fall 2012, she will executive produce a new sitcom for GMC, titled Richer or Poorer. .  

Dr. Geneva H. Baxter, who is an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Spelman College, will also serve as a judge with the pageant, this October.  Dean Baxter is also an Atlanta Branch Member for AAUW (formerly known as the American Association of University Women) which is a nationwide network of more than 100,000 members and donors, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/university institution partners. AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

The Miss Black Collegiate USA Scholarship Pageant is proud to have these two outstanding women who exemplify what and who our Contestants and young women in general should aspire to emulate.  

The pageant will take place in Atlanta, Georgia from October 26-28. The pageant application and press credentials deadline are Saturday, September 1, 2012.
