-- (Greater Boston, MA) – On Thursday, September 6th, 2012 at 8:00PM, “American Idol” finalist Ayla Brown will open for one of the biggest names in country music, Darius Rucker at the Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton, New Hampshire.
Ayla’s vocal performance will cap off an exciting night of country music talent. After achieving national recognition as the American Idol Finalist, Ayla has since performed at countless local and national concerts. With a fan base that continues togrow larger everyday, Ayla will return to open for Darius Rucker this year by popular demand. Throughout her career, Ayla has been able to showcase her talent in many notable performances, such as when she was featured in threeshows at the 2011 CMA fest. In addition, Ayla has recorded four hit albums. Her first was titled “Goodbye for Good” and remained the top hit on CDbaby.com’s Country Rock, Country Pop, and Overall Country charts for several weeks, topping country artist Willie Nelson.
After Ayla’s opening, Darius Rucker, named CMA New Artist of the Year in 2009 and top-charted artist today, will take the stage. His lineup for the evening will feature many of his songs, which reached the Billboard Top 100. About Ayla Brown:
Ayla Brown is an American NCAA basketball player and recording artist from Wrentham, Massachusetts. Brown embarked on her artist journey after making it through the tryouts of 135,000 potential contestants for the national acclaimed television program American Idol in 2005.
Brown has come to be known as "The Anthem Girl," as she has sung "The Star- Spangled Banner" at dozens of events. In 2006, she sang the National Anthem with the Boston Pops at the 33rd Annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular in front of a crowd of almost one million people. She has performed the Anthem several times for the Boston Celtics', Boston Red Sox, and for the NCAA women's basketball league. On July 4, 2010, Ayla performed the National Anthem with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra at the Let Freedom Sing concert. Ayla is currently the anthem performer for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Brown released her first studio album, Forward, on October 17,2006. The song, "Forward" was released on Adult Contemporary radio stations throughout the country and peaked at number 10 on the format's FMQB airplay chart and number 34 on the format's Mediabase airplay chart. In 2009 and 2010, Ayla released two 5 song EP’s on iTunes titled, Ayla Brown Live! and Circles. In 2012, Ayla finished her first self-titled country music album, available now for download on iTunes.
