Aug. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte’s premier beer garden, VBGB, located at the NC Music Factory, today announced it will host Charlotte’s inaugural Craftoberfest on Friday and Saturday, September 21 and 22, 2012.  The two-day event will feature beers brewed specifically for Craftoberfest by four Charlotte craft breweries including: NoDa, 4 Friends, Heist and Birdsong.

“We really like supporting the smaller breweries from all over North Carolina, but with Craftoberfest, we wanted to give the local craft breweries a way to spotlight their best seasonal beers in a fun way,” said Tom Taddeo, VBGB co-owner and half of the husband and wife duo that opened the beer hall and garden/restaurant in April, 2011.

In addition to the specially-created beers by local craft brewers, two traditional Oktoberfest beers and VBGB's famous pretzels w/beer cheese on buffet, entertainment will include the Big Face Polka band, Neil Diamond Karaoke, bier stein races, chicken dancing, traditional German costume contest and a frankfurter toss competition.  There will more than $1000 in prizes.

Tickets for the event’s three sessions cost $45 each (21+ ONLY) and are all inclusive. ($10 for under 21yr old on Saturday 1pm session only).  Purchase online at http://www.vbgbuptown.com or in person at VBGB during normal business hours. No phone orders.

The three sessions are:

·         Friday night, Sept. 21, 7-11pm

·         Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22, 1-5pm

·         Saturday night, Sept. 22, 7-11pm

“All true beer gardens are kid friendly and VBGB is no exception,” said Kara Taddeo, VBGB co-owner and mother of two small children.  “Our Saturday afternoon session features a limited number $10 ticket for attendees under 21 that includes a kid’s meal.”
