Las Vegas’ Chef Jeff Henderson to Premiere on GSN’s New Reality Series, “BEAT THE CHEFS”

Aug. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Chef Jeff Henderson, the first African-American executive chef at the Bellagio and sought-after speaker and author, makes his return to the kitchen on GSN’s (formerly Game Show Network) new original series, BEAT THE CHEFS. Pairing amateur home cooks against professional chefs, BEAT THE CHEFS will premiere Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on GSN (Cable channel 344, DIRECTV channel 233, DISH Network channel 116).

Chef Jeff Henderson’s story is nationally known for going from breaking the law, to breaking boundaries in the kitchen and becoming an award-winning chef and author.  He had much success with his first reality show, THE CHEF JEFF PROJECT on The Food Network, and he is looking forward to co-starring in is second reality show.

“I’m excited to be back in the kitchen. I’ve been given the chance to showcase my culinary skills on a new level and taking on a challenge that puts me to the test,” said Henderson, author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Cooked.

BEAT THE CHEFS will feature Chef Jeff and two other top chefs competing in a cooking show against amateur cooks who believe their family recipes are worthy of the winning prize of $25,000.

Chef Jeff has several projects and his fourth book release in his plans for spring 2013. With his passion to help troubled youth, Henderson remains active in the community through his nonprofit organization, The Chef Jeff Foundation. Henderson’s latest literary project is a self-help book that focuses on two decades of his life, from drug dealer to TV celebrity chef and nationally acclaimed motivational speaker. His main objective is “to help readers discover their hidden business aptitudes, make life changing decisions and secure bulletproof success.”

Chef Jeff’s first book, Cooked has inspired Sony Pictures to tell his story on the big screen and is set to star Will Smith in the leading role.
