New Course Teaches Self-Discovery through Journaling
CreateWriteNow has launched an emailed course in journaling, based on the book, Peace of Mind and Body: 27 Days of Journaling to Health and Happiness, by Mari L. McCarthy. The course delivers one email a day for 30 days.
Based on the seminal work by Mari McCarthy, Peace of Mind and Body: 27 Days of Journaling to Health and Happiness, the new course packages and delivers the book’s journaling exercises as daily emails.
“People will read a book and then forget it as they become involved in other things,” says McCarthy. “The emailed course keeps them focused and practicing.”
CreateWriteNow, The Journaling Place, specializes in using journaling as a tool in three areas: self-discovery, self-improvement, and self-healing. The company’s mission is to heighten awareness about personal journaling and to involve more people in its benefits and joys.
“I believe we are born with everything we need, but over time, we get confused and lost,” explains McCarthy. “Journaling is a direct, efficient, and pleasurable way to get back in touch with who you really are.”
Purposeful journaling is most effective if done habitually. CreateWriteNow recommends a daily practice. While those who have journaled extensively find the daily habit perfectly natural, newcomers to journaling may have difficulty creating this new routine.
In order to provide an easy way to get started, the new emailed course doles out exercises in small daily bites. Instead of looking at a whole book’s worth of work, the new journaler just deals with one journaling challenge at a time. CreateWriteNow expects that this way of administering the course will be more palatable for some people, and help them to become happy, regular daily writers.
A self-study course, this opportunity is open to anyone and can be accessed at any time. Each email in the course provides a brief orientation, one or more journal writing exercises, and closing commentary. The actual journaling, for the most part, requires about a half hour from the participant each day.
Mari L. McCarthy publishes the CreateWriteNow website (http://CreateWriteNow.com), which is devoted to personal journaling. She has also published a series of ebooks – or e-workbooks, as she calls them – showing how to apply journal writing to a large variety of life's challenges. Topics have included ways in which journaling can be used in job searches, losing weight, overcoming writer's block, and a host of health and wellness issues; as well as guides to establishing a journaling habit, and using it to find peace of mind and body.
The course costs $19.97 and may be purchased at http://www.createwritenow.com/
