| Pressure Wash Question of the Week Released by North American Pressure Wash OutletDifferences between belt drive and direct drive pressure washers......
NAPWO's webstore is located at www.pressurewashoutlet.com. Each week, the team posts a question that has been posed to them by a customer. This week's question relates to pressure washing equipment and the differences between belt drive and direct drive units. According to Tracy Handl at NAPWO, a direct drive may be less expensive for the beginning contractor a belt drive unit is a better choice for the pro contractor. Since the pump is not directly hooked-up to the engine, a belt drive doesn't get the heat and vibration off the motor like a direct drive does and therefore it last longer. Belt drive pumps also run at a slower RPMs and they will pull from a water tank better than a direct drive. Overall a belt drive is a better investment IF the unit will be used for a long time. The team at NAPWO is adept at helping power wash professionals with their equipment or chemical issues. Technical support is available Monday thru Saturday.
