Aug. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY - Atlanta rapper Mario Tally also known as DG Yola or Yola Da Great is pending release from an Atlanta halfway house and he just “Ain’t Gon’ Let Up.” Motivated by the 2006 song he is most noted for, the lead single to anchor an Atlantic Records solo project; has since become an almost supernatural hood-hymn and personal mantra for Yola. A philosophy of resilience Yola adopted, lived and survived by during a completed cycle of ill-fated life events and back.

“Ain’t Gon Let Up” is the catalyst that ignited and sustained a promising rap career. A song easily identified by a  Caribbean flavored steal pan pounding, contagious kinetic energy, with a galvanizing urgent call & response chorus, winning Yola legions of fans. Also, commanded the attention, respect, and support from weighted rap notables T.I, Big Boi, & T-Pain, and eventually senior vice president of A&R Mike Caren of Atlantic Records inking a deal.

Although Yola was poised for what was to be a meteoric rise. As fate would have it in a series of unfortunate events Yola was shot in the face in an attempted robbery. After numerous surgeries and his jaw wired shut, Yola’s mantra proved the source of strength he needed for the will to live and make a miraculous recovery in the fight of his life. Ironically, while making effort to get back on track, Yola would suffer yet another legal setback after shooting his cousin.  Remorseful Yola took full responsibility and turned himself in; serving a three and a half year prison sentence for aggravated assault. DG Yola was released from prison into a halfway house May 2012.

He’s come full circle assuming his rightful place without skipping a beat. Since his release from prison in May, Yola has been covering lost ground releasing DG Yola & DJ Panic - Live From The Halfway House mixtape, DG Yola & DJ Kutt Throat – Mr. Broke The Knob Off mixtape, “Live Real Die Real” and “So Gone,” both produced by Midnight Black. Mario Tally aka, DG Yola or Yola Da Great has become a living testament to his own acclaimed street anthem “Ain’t Gon Let Up.”
