Standard Cocoa Aims to Satisfy Chocolate Cravings with Launch of New Online Subscription Service

Aug. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Every month subscribers to receive 3 unique bars of curated chocolate from a featured craft chocolate maker.  The focus of the site is also about sharing each chocolate maker's individual story, thereby strengthening the connection between producer and consumer of the chocolate.

Standard Cocoa was inspired by a love and appreciation for craft chocolate.  Its co-founders, Jordana and Bernard, believe that consumers have evolved to appreciate products produced in high quality micro-batches.  After months of consumer research, they discovered that the story behind the product has also become as essential as the product itself.  Following a shared passion for chocolate and e-commerce, Standard Cocoa was born.

"Taking the time to build relationships with craft chocolate makers is at the heart of what we’re doing. It's the personal connections that are enabling us to share a genuine experience with our customers," says Jordana.  There has already been a circulating buzz within the craft chocolate industry about the level of increased exposure this service will be able to generate.  “We’re giving chocolate makers an opportunity to connect with a demographic they may have otherwise not had the chance to target.  E-commerce is facilitating this interaction,” says Bernard.

Standard Cocoa offers multiple craft chocolate subscription packages, including 1-month, 3-month and 6-month options.  Gift packages with similar durations are also available.  The service is currently only vyfxf available in the United States.  Prices are as low as $18 a month, and the first Craft Chocolate Boxes will be sent out mid-September. We’re excited to announce our first month’s partnership with Fruition Chocolate, a bean-to-bar chocolate maker in the Catskill Mountains of New York.

Standard Cocoa is part of a burgeoning movement in the food and tech industry to connect people with the foods they love. Chocolate is surely no exception to this evolution, and Standard Cocoa is bringing the concept front and center through its craft chocolate subscription service.
