-- AUGUST 18, 2012 -- Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. (WBTB) is currently seeking volunteers for the Tennessee Wives Behind the Badge Auxiliary Committee. The work of the Tennessee Auxiliary helps to provide the outreach and support WBTB offers on a state and local level. The Tennessee Auxiliary Director, Allison Kent, is the proud wife of a Metropolitan Nashville Police Officer and is a longtime member of Wives Behind the Badge. Kent is very excited to be working in her home state to aid her fellow law enforcement families. She is actively seeking volunteers for the Tennessee Auxiliary and partner agencies.
Volunteers perform tasks such as bringing meals to families of officers when they have a new baby or an officer is injured or when a family member passes away. They also offer refreshments when officers are working extended shifts or holidays and help organize department picnics or parties. They help raise funds for WBTB non-profit work including scholarships, disaster assistance, emotional support, resource assistance and K-9 assistance. The Auxiliary gives law enforcement families a way to support their officers/deputies as well as a social medium so that they can support one another. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, e-mail Kent at Tennessee.Auxiliary@
