Healthcare-Associated Infections Discussed in Part 1 of a 3 Part Video Series

Aug. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Today, the IAQ Video Network and Cochrane & Associates announced the release of another online video to help educate the public about issues that may impact their health.  The latest educational video is part one of a three part series examining healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Healthcare-associated infections are infections that patients acquire during the course of receiving healthcare treatment for other conditions. These infections can be devastating and even deadly, not to mention they add billions of dollars in medical costs each year.

“So many people are impacted by HAIs each year in the United States that we decided to do a series on the microbial pathogens responsible for the bulk of these infections,” reported Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network and the new public outreach video.  “This video discusses Clostridium difficile (C. diff), Acinetobacter, Burkholderia cepacia, and Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE).  We hope this new video helps to educate people about these HAIs and how they can help protect their health from these microbial pathogens.”
