Follow on Google News | Nationally Ranked Elite Hurdler Brisa Guzman-Sanchez Chooses Alemany Highschool for Freshman YearAlemany HS new Head Coach Michael Wellington welcomes nationally ranked VYC league champion 100 Meter Hurdler Brisa Guzman-Sanchez. She will run Varsity her freshman year and looks forward to a great season as a Warrior.
By: GS Media Group Brisa has run for the past nine years with the Northridge Pacers Track Club where she recently set the new club 100 meter hurdle record. She is the leader in the entire Valley Youth Conference and took first place at the 2012 USATF Junior Olympic Region 15 finals at Cerritos College with a time of 15.15. Specializing in hurdles and sprints, this will be her 5th season running hurdles. She looks forward to being a positive contribution to the team and looks forward to working with the other athletes. Coach Wellington has announced that the new Alemany top hurdlers will be competing for the first time in the shuttle relays in both 100 hurdles for women and the 110 hurdles for men. Brisa is very excited about continuing her academics at Bishop Alemeny HS and looking forward to being a part the new training program recently implemented. The new found support for the track and field program from the Principal Frank Ferry has surprised many with the announcement of a new tartan track now under construction. Brisa was inspired by Olympic hurdlers Lolo Jones and Sally Pearson by watching them on Youtube which motivated her to run hurdles.
