Aug. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Paige K. Davis, the Director of Business Development for POP Cinema/Camp Motion Pictures, will attend Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival as a guest. The five day festival runs from October 17th – 21st at the Market Arcade Film and Arts Center in downtown Buffalo , New York . POP Cinema is one of the leading distributors of independent genre films for DVD, cable TV, and digital download markets; its labels include Shock-O-Rama Cinema, Camp Motion Pictures , and Seduction Cinema. Davis attended the festival last year, where she discussed the changing world of distribution for independent horror, science fiction, and exploitation filmmakers.

“I’ve done business with POP Cinema since 1998,” says Buffalo Screams’ 2012 Chairman Gregory Lamberson, “and I’ve worked with Paige on two DVD releases since then and interviewed her for my filmmaking bookCheap Scares.  She’s one of the brightest professionals working in the distribution and marketing of independent horror films, and she possesses a wealth of invaluable information that the attending filmmakers and patrons of Buffalo Screams will benefit from - the talk she gave last year was a true highlight of the festival, and we’re excited to have her back.”

Since Davis ’s 2011 appearance at Buffalo Screams, POP Cinema has formed a new label, Independent Entertainment, which specializes in micro-budget genre films. According to oofj Lamberson, this new imprint should be of special interest to the filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers attending Buffalo Screams. The label has acquired two films from the Buffalo-Niagara region, Sam Qualiana’s creature featureSnow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast, and Ken Consentino’s violent superhero riffCrimson: the Motion Picture.  Both features will screen at Buffalo Screams as in non-competition showcase slots.

Debbie Rochon is the Honorary Chairperson of Buffalo Screams, and indie horror comedy filmmaker Chris Seaver will be honored with the festival’s Genre Spirit Award; Seaver will screen his latest film,Sexquatch. In addition to its regular competitive categories, this year Buffalo Screams is offering a $500 cash prize for the best Faux Grindhouse trailer, through sponsor Stellar International Motion Pictures; the deadline for films and original screenplays is September 1st. Buffalo Screams has also formed an association with the charity organization Scares That Care. Visitwww.buffaloscreams.comfor details.
