Volkswagen is Lead Sponsor for 25th Shark Week on Discovery

Volkswagen supports the compelling, zany, and informative yearly program that is Discovery’s own Shark Week
 
Aug. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- If you are like us at Volkswagen of South Charlotte, then you admire sharks and find them, in some ways, quite similar to Volkswagen vehicles. Both are sleek and well-built, astonishing in their respective natural environments, and pack quite a bite. Considering all this, we thought it quite fitting when we received wind that Volkswagen is sponsoring this year’s Shark Week on Discovery.

Shark Week, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, began on August 12 at 9 p.m. with a broadcast of Air Jaws Apocalypse. This series followed a massive, 14-foot Great White that lives off of Seal Island, South Africa. He is appropriately named Colossus.

This year marks Shark Week’s 25th year, making it the longest-running program on cable television. After the premier, the entire week will be dedicated to new and previously-broadcasted series all about different kinds of sharks, their environments, and habits.

We hope that you all enjoy all that shark week has to offer. The Volkswagen advertisements sprinkled throughout the programs are sure to offer some insight, humor, and perhaps a break from the gripping, fear-inducing nature of the beast that Discovery and so many of its fans admire!
