North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Names Dr. Scotty Gibbs As New President

Aug. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association ( has announced the organization’s 2012-2013 board of directors. The organization has elected Dr. Scotty Gibbs as the president for the organization. Gibbs is the owner of HillTop Animal Hospital in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from NC State University. After graduating from college, Gibbs completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He is an active member of the greater Triangle veterinary community.  

Other members of the 2012-2013 executive board include:

- President-Elect: Dr. David Linzey, Animal Emergency & Pet Care Clinic, Boone, N.C.
- Vice President: Dr. Shannon Foy, Brentwood Veterinary Center, Wilson, N.C.
- Secretary and Treasurer: Dr. Kristen Hammett, Animal Hospital, Waynesville, N.C.
- Immediate Past President: Dr. Chessie Green, Falls Village Veterinary Hospital, Raleigh, N.C.

“We are pleased to announce our 2012-2013 executive board,” said Claire Holley, executive director of the NCVMA. “These men and women will play a critical part in our continuing role in the veterinary community across the state, and I am incredibly confident that they will continue to lead this organization in our efforts to provide compassionate animal care.”

- Gibbs’ veterinary interests include orthopedic surgery, anesthesia and soft tissue.

- He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

- He has three dogs: a Maltese named Eden, ibzng and two German Shorthair Pointers named Ben and Annie.
