Follow on Google News | Terminus landlady reaches maximum velocity for children’s charityShelley Elliot, landlady of the Terminus Pub in Eastbourne, gave Sussex children’s charity the Children’s Respite Trust a massive boost this week when she handed over £1,008 following her charity skydive.
Shelley said of the experience: “I was absolutely petrified and really was not sure that I would be able to jump but the thought of the children and the difference I could make gave me the oomph I needed to jump, I am so glad I did it.” Shelley was supported at the airfield by husband Stephen, son Kai and friend Lee Moore. The money raised will go towards the Children’s Respite Trust’s important work with local families with disabled children. The charity’s Chief Executive, Gavin Fisher, said of the jump: “We’re enormously grateful to Shelley for taking on this incredible challenge and for the fantastic contribution that has resulted. It will make a big difference towards our work and will help to make life easier for the children and their families.” For more information about taking a charity skydive visit www.childrensrespitetrust.org.uk or call the charity on 01435 205004.
