His love of cooking began in his native France, where he would cook for family reunions with his grandfather (no easy task with 150 family members). Guerin attended some of the most prestigious culinary academies in France and opened up Restaurant Guy Savoy with Chef Savoy. Guerin is a Maitre Cuisinier de France, received the medal of Chevalier du Mérite Agricole from the French Government, and was awarded the esteemed title of Best Chef, Northeast by the James Beard Foundation. Chef Guerin says there's nothing "better than summer vegetables simmered in a saffron broth and finished with raw tomatoes and herbs". He shared his Chilled Diced Vegetables in Saffron Bouillon recipe with FriendsEAT.
