All donations were given to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star organization for distribution to local children and schools in need.
By: Massage Envy Dallas/Fort Worth Over 200 school items – from backpacks and calculators to notebooks and rulers – were collected. Massage Envy clients who participated in the drive were entered into a drawing for a free one-hour service of their choice – massage or facial. The lucky winner was Joyce Coker. Kristen Angel, assistant clinic administrator at Massage Envy SPA Rowlett, and massage therapist Sandra Middlebrook were the drive sponsors and spent many hours working to raise awareness in the community and gather supplies from clients, nearby businesses and clinic staff. “I really enjoyed organizing the event. It humbles us to give back to those in need, and I was very happy with the outcome,” Kristen said. “Our employees and clients really got involved, and we couldn't have had success without their help!” Sandra added, “It was a real eye-opener to see how many kids right here in our area could not afford to get all the school supplies they needed. I am so glad we were able to help at least some of them. On September 19, 2012, Massage Envy DFW clinics will donate $10 from every one-hour massage session or facial to the Arthritis Foundation. Last year, this one-day event raised nearly $500,000 for the Arthritis Foundation. Appointments are accepted from August 3 – September 19, 2012. Reservations are being accepted on a first‐come, first‐serve basis. All proceeds donated during Healing Hands for Arthritis will support the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis and related diseases. Additionally, Murad®, Massage Envy SPA’s strategic skin care partner, will donate 10 percent of all sales from its products sold at Massage Envy SPA locations during the event to the Arthritis Foundation.
