Aug. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Sisters of Silence is a poignant story about two women’s loneliness. Brought on by the divide between two cultures yet belonging to neither, it tells of their desperate wish to assimilate. Based on fact intermingled with fantasy, the story is set in the northern Patagonian Lake District, from the 1930s to present day.

The story begins when Rita bears a daughter named Juana, whose birth resulted from a rape. Juana is raised by the Mapuche Indians and becomes shaman of the tribe. Rita dies giving birth to her second daughter, Jane, who is brought up by her aunt and uncle. Although the two sisters live in the same area, they are unaware of their connection, as Juana’s birth was kept highly secretive.

Sisters of Silence follows Juana and Jane’s lives and loves, as well as their rivalry for the land belonging to Rita’s family. Will the sisters ever reconcile?
