Plus Fashion Week Launches Official Blog Squad!

CHICAGO, IL, October 2012 – Plus Fashion Week Chicago is highlighting the official blog squad of Plus Fashion Week, a group of female bloggers that attend fashion events in representation of plus size fashion to cover what’s going on in the fashion world. They are the faces of our generation and living examples that what Plus Fashion Week is instilling in the community is worthwhile.  

The blog squad is consisted of a team of 5 fashion professionals dedicated to making a change in the world through emphasizing the beauty of full-figured women and what they stand for.

Stella Estrella-Quimby, PR and marketing freelance executive, is on the lookout for new and upcoming stars of the fast-growing Chicago fashion industry. Her blog is dedicated to highlighting select individuals and popular events. A college instructor at the Illinois Institute of Art Schaumburg and the International Academy of Design & Technology, Quimby is always on her toes for what the future of the fashion industry may bring. Lauren Kent, a third-year Education major, began blogging because she felt it would prove a beneficial way to boost her confidence in being comfortable in her own skin, and in turn, hoping to inspire readers to feel the same. Kent has future plans of beginning her own online clothing store after graduating, pertaining to plus-sized individuals in the Chicago area. Eva London possesses blog inHer Glam, found at www.inherglam.com. London’s blog is your one-stop site for all things fashion, glam and life related, featuring topics ranging from fashion, music, food, healthy living and most importantly, women. Interviewing women from various walks of life including entrepreneurs, singers and beauty and fashion companies, London feels very blessed to have come across this opportunity. Her goal is for InHer Glam to become a site that women will visit daily.

“If I can touch someone’s life with a video, post or just encouraging words then I’ve done my part,” she says.

Michelle Resendiz is a plus size model from Chicago, IL. She works to achieve a healthy outlook for others. She doesn’t agree with the MATTEL standard of beauty, and she is here to prove the fashion industry wrong. She’s here to bring a unique edge to our readers, and is our fashion guru. Michelle believes in spreading love, not hate, when it comes to women’s bodies and body types, and wants our readers to know that that is what she stands for. Michelle lives in the suburbs of Chicago where she keeps her family close around her. After graduating high school, Michelle went to college where she received her certification in make-up artistry. Brandy Hazzard started her blog, Gold'n Glitters, three years ago from meeting plus size and beauty bloggers through various social media outlets.

“I believe, as a plus size woman of color, that I see style and beauty differently than others, Hazzard says.”

‎Janeida Rivera, a young, Puerto-Rican Chicagoan, possesses her blog, titled Fat2Flaca. Rivera is on a mission to share her Latino Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) experience after undergoing a Verticle Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) 3 months ago. She began Fat2Flaca to seek support and make friends with other Latinos who are in the process of getting healthier.
