LATAM Games Launches Video Games Distribution Venture

Aug. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- MIAMI, FL - LATAM Games is proud to announce the launch of its operations as of August 1, under the leadership of Kevin Baqai. With LATAM’s inception, a new era in video games distribution is born in South Florida. Baqai, operating out of Miami, previously managed Proximo Games’ operations of its retail franchising of stores in Brazil. He brings his vast knowledge of video games merchandising and management with him to the new company.

The remaining members of the management team from the former Miami headquarters of Proximo are also now working for LATAM, which will be a video games distributor for Latin America. Other key members of LATAM are Mike Baqai, Carolina Belletti, Winston Pulley and Luis Roman.

Proximo Games and its global brand were sold to a Brazilian investment group, which will continue the expansion of the operations in-country.

Based in Miami, FL, LATAM Games will draw on its personnel’s wide-ranging and diversified experience in the video games arena as it acts as a games distributor. It will serve the needs of video game retailers, renters, online merchants, importers, and duty-free stores in various countries in Latin America. Having already gained the confidence of significant “name brand” gaming publishers, LATAM retains the right for distribution for Latin America for a list that includes Capcom, Namco-Bandai, and Sega
 
LATAM Games’s emphasis will target expansion of the video games market in Latin America, specifically in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. LATAM will retain regional sales and marketing teams in the respective countries to service its clients’ needs. LATAM plans a steady expansion in Latin American markets for its clients, and as always, Baqai and his team will put the foremost focus on service.

LATAM will offer Latin American outlets a full range of products in all formats and from all publishers. These include Playstation 3, Vita, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, 3DS, and several classic generation consoles.
