Christendom College Announces Fall Open House

Aug. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- The Christendom College admissions office will host its annual Fall Open House & Family Visit Day for prospective students and their families on Monday, October 8 – Columbus Day – from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., on its Front Royal, Va., campus.

"I am very excited about this coming year,” Associate Director of Admissions Zac Inman says. “We’re celebrating our 35th anniversary, and will have a lot of activities associated with this milestone anniversary. Additionally, we are beginning the new academic year with more students in the incoming class than we had been asked to bring in, so we are happy to have exceeded our goal by 15%. My hope is that this Open House will give students a deeper understanding and insight into what why so many students are selecting Christendom as their college of choice."

After a welcome by College President Dr. Timothy O’Donnell, students will have the opportunity to tour the campus, and then attend classes. Following classes, visitors will attend Mass, eat lunch with faculty members, and listen to short presentations about the college, given by the Athletic Director, Dean of Student Life, and Chaplain.


Following lunch, visitors will learn more about financial aid, alumni careers, outreach and leadership opportunities, and Christendom’s unique Semester in Rome Program. The day will end with a Q&A period and closing remarks by Director of Admissions Tom McFadden who will give some insights into the unique nature of a Christendom College education.

"We selected October 8 because it is Columbus Day and many local high schools cancel classes that day. Christendom students have classes that day and so students will be able to see college life 'in action,' so to speak," says McFadden. "Many people from the Northern Virginia area have heard about our college for years, but have never been out to see us. This might be the perfect time for families, no matter what age their children are, to see if Christendom might be the place for them."
