Indie musician embarks on a journey across America to find common perspective about success

Indie Singer/Songwriter JOSHUA embarks on a journey across America to find common perspective about what success means “What does it take to get you where you’re going?”

Aug. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- WHAT:  A journey across the United States, documenting and telling the unique stories of real-life musicians and others to reveal truth about success in an ever-changing media industry and the current American lifestyle.

WHY:  Having couch-surfed, floor-hopped, and been homeless at different times himself, JOSHUA intends to bring light to the battles a music industry professional must undergo, offer new perspectives toward the current difficult times in our economy and the industry itself, and contribute to community participation towards solving these problems.

WHERE:  The journey begins in Los Angeles, CA and weaves across the United States to New York City. (For the official schedule, visit www.homeontheroadproject.com)

WHEN:  August 19 - September 13, 2012

HOW:  This project is 100% independently funded and resourced.  Outreach is fueled by donations made through the websites www.homeontheroadproject.com and www.listentojoshua.com. Los Angeles-based nonprofit Home and Community, Inc. allows donations made directly on the homepage tax-deductible, and proceeds from a simultaneous indie record release of acoustic music, “ACOUSTICS” through the direct fan-to-artist website, Bandcamp, will help raise funds to benefit the causes supported by this project (MusicCares, Home and Community Inc, and various homeless shelters to name a few).  Social media and internet-video will take the public along with JOSHUA on this exploration.  (All details are outlined on www.homeontheroadproject.com)

WHO:  Singer/ Songwriter JOSHUA (Joshua Smith) has always sought to inspire social change through music. An advocate for community growth and social justice, the Home on the Road Project is his personal effort to give back to the artistic and activist communities he is a part of, and to create new opportunities, direction, and education for those in need.

The Home on the Road Project seeks to use music as a vehicle to promote artistic growth, community growth, and to help end homelessness in America, while promoting the idea that anything is possible with passion and commitment.
