Follow on Google News | Hotel on Course for Bumper Festive SeasonChristmas and New Year bookings at a North Yorkshire hotel look set to buck the trend as the award-winning establishment takes on a nautical theme.
By: Rendezvous Hotel Throughout December, the eighty room hotel is hosting a range of cruise-themed dining and celebration packages including “Dine with the Captain”, a fine dining experience in the hotel’s waterside conservatory and restaurant, accompanied by the hotel’s resident pianist and vocalist. Over two thirds of the hotel’s eighty rooms are already booked for the period between Christmas and New Year, a traditionally quiet time for many hotels. A further 40% of rooms are booked over the New Year. Cruise themed corporate celebration packages are also attracting the attention of local businesses, resulting in a recent flurry of enquiries. The nautical theme is the brain child of hotel owner Karen Weaving, whose aim is to offer a new experience to guests visiting the eighty-room, canal-side hotel over Christmas and the New Year. Karen, who runs the hotel with husband Malcolm, said, “This year we want to offer corporate and leisure guests something different to the usual festive packages provided by many hotels. As the largest hotel in Skipton, our canal-side restaurant, ballroom and spacious reception areas are perfect for embracing the cruise theme”. “Our mid-price range ShowTime package is proving especially popular with businesses looking for an innovative, cost-effective way to reward staff over the festive period”, she added. Earlier this year the Rendezvous picked up the silver award in the “Best Individual Hotel for Groups” category at the National Group Travel Awards. The nautical theme extends to resident guests with “Cruise and Stay” packages which include a choice of “staterooms” End
