Aug. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Although the threat of hurricanes is in the air, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Rosie Hodge-Adams, travels across the Caribbean delivering school supplies to children in need.  "It is important that we utilize the proceeds from the Every Child Matters 5K Run/Walk to fund programs and projects in a timely manner.  In the Caribbean, the school year commences in early September and we need to ensure that as many children as possible are fully equipped to start the new school year" states Rosie who began her travels late last week and has donated school supplies to children on the islands of Trinidad, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Lucia.
The Children of the Caribbean Foundation's back-to-school initiative was made possible through the generous donations of organizations such as L.I.A.T. the Caribbean Airline, which transported the supplies across the Caribbean free of cost.  Other sponsors included Ziggy Marley through the U.R.G.E. Foundation, Randy and Erika Jackson, Simone I. Smith, Yvette Bowser, and many other friends and concerned persons who donated online, or participated in the Every Child Matters 5K Run/Walk held in June 2012.  To those persons Children of the Caribbean Foundation, and the many recipients of school supplies across the Caribbean extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation.
