Aug. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Signature Funeral Services, the city’s NEWEST Funeral Establishment, announces the opening of their first location. The funeral services company offers area families legendary customer service, quality care and affordable pricing that are unmatched in the Memphis area.

At the age of 34, Rodney Williams is the youngest CEO in the Memphis funeral industry. With over seventeen years in the industry, Williams’ experience, expertise and passion for serving families at their most significant time of need sets this young entrepreneur apart in the Memphis funeral services industry.

Although there are several, long-established funeral homes in Memphis; Signature Funeral Services intends to offer more, having developed a sure means of delivering quality, care and affordability to clients. “At Signature Funeral Services, you’ll be able to arrange any type of funeral service,” Williams continued. “Our unique location and boutique approach to funeral planning allow us to keep our overhead costs low, while providing unparalleled value coupled with the quality of care to our customers.”

Many of the existing firms have strayed away from the founding principles. They have forgotten that the essence of Funeral Service is service, not price. This can be attributed to the absence of the founders of the existing funeral homes in Memphis are who either deceased or whose entities are partially or fully owned by major funeral industry conglomerates. With the demise of the founder, the founding principles are diluted or fail to exist completely and the focus of the business is shifted to the bottom-line instead of the quality of care and customer service. Williams has worked his entire career keeping the service aspect of the funeral business at the forefront of every family he has served.

In May of 2010, Williams encountered the Yarbrough family during his tenure at a local funeral home. They had received a telephone call from Atlanta, GA, that a beloved relative had passed away. The family had limited funds and needed to get Lakeisha, their lost loved one, back to Memphis. After visiting with several of the established Memphis firms and leaving without an amicable solution, the family landed at the funeral home where Williams worked to seek affordable arrangements. Devastated, the family left the funeral home as hopeless as they had arrived, since the owner would not render a solution to their problem either. Williams felt uneasy, and could not rest knowing that this grieving family would not be helped. The following day, feeling compelled to help the

Yarbough family; Williams independently went to work on their case. After contacting the Atlanta Medical Examiner, to get the proper authorizations, Williams reached out to a friend and funeral home owner in Little Rock, AR, who sent a driver to Atlanta and brought Lakeisha’s body back to Arkansas. Ultimately, the family was able to say goodbye and put Lakeisha to rest in Memphis. By calling in a favor and making funeral arrangements for this family who had hopelessly walked away from every funeral home they contacted in Memphis, Rodney Williams was able to help a family in need. When asked about her experience working with Williams, Lakeisha’s aunt said. “Caring, professional and proficient are just a few words to describe our experience.”

After that experience, Williams felt there was a need for a new type of Funeral Company in Memphis. Williams opened this boutique-style company for people in need of something special and affordable. “When families are faced with the task of burying a loved one, they should work with a funeral director who is professional, cost-effective and willing to do whatever it takes to give them the meaningful, memorable experience.” Says Williams about his decision to open Signature Funeral Services

He goes on to say, “A lot of work goes into to what a funeral director does and it is my opinion that advertising extremely low prices is a deviation from the essence of the industry, which is service. A funeral director should also be able to meet the family at their point of need, without needing approval from a corporate office to do so. Signature Funeral Services will not promote our company as a low-price alternative to the long-established companies in Memphis. We will promote our company based on the premise of quality and care and as a place where families in need can feel confident that their loved ones will be laid to rest in a manner that will allow them to grieve the loss of their loved one and celebrate their life, without the added worry of affordability. That is why at Signature Funeral Services, whatever your choices, whatever your tradition, whatever your budget, we remain committed to doing whatever it takes to take care of your family.”
