Aug. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY – August 2012- Urban Broadcasting Company, (UBC-TV Network) a Harlem, New York based broadcast multi-media company will be holding a press conference/preview event on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.  The announcement will take place at the National Black Theatre 2031 Fifth Avenue at 125th Street (Harlem, NY).  Red carpet arrivals will be from 6:00pm – 7:00pm.  Press announcement will be at 7:30pm followed by dance, fun and food.

UBC-TV Network will produce original urban lifestyle content that will be distributed over multiple platforms which will include cable, satellite, VOD, set –top- boxes, mobile, wireless devices, social media and other platforms. UBC-TV Network is a producing network that will have its’ own ‘UBC Originals’ that include news, entertainment, business, fashion, health and other lifestyle programs. UBC-TV’s goal is to provide relevant, diverse, exciting and uplifting programming geared towards the underserved Urban Multi-Cultural market.

UBC-TV has secured cable and satellite distribution through independent distributors that will give it a prime time television presence; combining this with its video on demand and mobile presence with a social media tie-in. This combination gives the viewers the opportunity to watch and engage with UBC-TV programming on multiple platforms whenever they choose. UBC-TV will begin to rollout with its signature programming September of this year into over 50 + million households.

CEO, President and Executive Producer Peggy Dodson says, "The Urban Multicultural market is now mainstream and it is time our voices be heard and our stories be told by us. This is a dream come true that's been years in the making but I also knew UBC's day would come."

Starting this December, UBC-TV Network will exclusively broadcast a minimum of ten (10) American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com games as well as the ABA Championship Series and ABA All-Star Game. This is the first ever national broadcast deal for the ABA and is historic in the making.

The ABA is also the most diversified professional sports league ever with nearly 75% of its teams owned by African-Americans, Hispanics. Playing with the red, white and blue ball introduced in the original ABA that featured, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, George Gervin, Spencer Haywood, Moses Malone and other legends, teams are made of up former NBA players, NCAA Division 1 & 2 players and international players and provide exciting professional basketball at affordable prices. UBC-TV will add half-time performances to the game that will make it a complete entertainment package.

This Fall, UBC-TV will debut “THE UBC MIX DANCE SHOW” as part of its original programming block.  The UBC Mix Dance Show is the dance show for a new generation. It is the evolution of American Bandstand and Soul Train combined with today’s contemporary flavor.  The show will feature a celebrity host that will keep the show moving. Co-hosted with Toccara Lanett, up and coming new dance star, the show will keep you on your toes.

The UBC MIX will feature Hip Hop, R&B, Dance and Latin music performances by some of the industry’s top recording artist and new artist making their way onto the scene. The show will also feature a guest DJ who will be spinning the mix for the show and feature the hottest dancers from East to West. It will not disappoint.

President and CEO Peggy Dodson says,”I wanted to take things back to an organic state. Everybody’s doing a dance competition show these days but where did all of this start? American Bandstand and Soul Train is where it began. The UBC Mix is about the dancers and the music and the creation of a new platform for established and emerging artists, DJ’s and dancers.”

UBC-TV will debut its’ UBC News Block with longtime television veteran, Felipe Luciano, who will host a political and current events show entitled, “A Different Perspective.”

UBC-TV’s Lifestyle Programming Block will include, “Style N Beauty Café”,  “Urban Access Entertainment”, “UBC Wellness and Fitness TV”, “UBC Small Business, Finance and Tech Show” and “City Vines, a wine and food show.” There will also be short films, documentaries and other programs that will be announced as the channel makes its national rollout.
