In this evening's program of Dark Letter Days we visit Kat Von D's Wonderland Gallery in Hollywood, California, where we take a look at Viva Vampira, a new exhibit on the life of Maila Nurmi aka Vampira in the 50's and 60's. Viva Vampira was curated by Sam Soto and came from the collection of Jonny Coffin. Highlights include one of kind bat glasses and rare photographs. She portrayed Vampira as TV's first horror host and in the Ed Wood cult film Plan 9 from Outer Space. She also appeared in the 1959 movie The Beat Generation as Vampira.
