Aug. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Schiphol-Rijk, Netherlands – 2 August 2012: SecondFloor today announced the acquisition of a controlling interest in Business-DNA.

SecondFloor Holding, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a vendor of workflow, governance and process control solutions for regulatory reporting and business analytics enablement in financial services organizations. Business-DNA Solutions GmbH, headquartered in Switzerland, is the vendor of a platform for enterprise transformation management, offering business architecture analysis, and process and data transparency solutions. Both firms are focused on enabling efficient, controlled and smooth processes.

“Highly regulated organizations are seeking to understand and orchestrate everything that falls under supervisory scrutiny or forms part of a compliance or strategic oversight regime”, said Martin Knook, CEO, SecondFloor. “With complete insight and control available to them, management teams will be able to instigate the cultural changes intended by regulators and standards bodies”, he added.

Business-DNA’s TopEase software establishes an ‘as is’ insight into the business architecture, processes and data structure.. It uses a business process driven approach and provides an holistic view of the business architecture. TopEase is capable of mapping the complexity of the many business dimensions of multi-layered services, products, and legal and organisational structures, in addition to the relatively straightforward connections of a two dimensional IT landscape.

The ability of TopEase to make transparent the seemingly impenetrable depths of a complex organization’s data, process and system structures is based on intellectual property held within four global patents owned by Business-DNA. It is the power of TopEase that brought it to the attention of SecondFloor. Financial services clients often present SecondFloor with the documented, but not necessarily complete, accurate or clear process and data maps created in the early stages of major IT programs, such as those for Solvency II and Basel III regulatory compliance.

“TopEase identifies and stores mappings and flows in an immediately usable format for the business, for IT system oversight and for integration management”, said Roland Pulfer, CEO of Business-DNA. “It accelerates business and IT projects, such as preparing for Solvency II or Basel III, and it can remain in place to ensure all mappings are kept up-to-date, avoiding the necessity to re-invent the wheel for each project”, added Pulfer.

Commercial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Martin Knook and Roland Pulfer will be Directors on the board of Business-DNA.
