Aug. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA, August 1, 2012 -- Chris Warner stands a man among men, an alpha male, determined to deliver on a promise of making his version of the Punisher on film closer to the Punisher we see in the comics. It is widely known that the Punisher movies of the past have done less than justice to the character who first made his appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #129, one of the classic collector's items of the comic book world. The Punisher is known for being a rugged, not giving a crap bad-ass who holds no mercy for criminals. The Punisher has been on a vigilante spree since he witnessed the killing of his wife and two kids in Central Park in NYC some nearly 30 years ago. He is a decorated war hero who served in the Marine Recon and Navy SEALS in Vietnam, as well as the NYPD before that fateful day. So armed with weapons he has used many times to cut through bad guys like a hot knife through butter, he sets out on a blood spilling rampage around the world in search of inner peace...which any psychologist will tell you he will never find. Marvel Studios had Thomas Jane poking baddies with a Popsicle.

The latest rendition of the Punisher in Punisher War Journal starring Ray Stevenson, Warren admits is the closest Marvel has come. Yet the fans are still calling BS! Why can Marvel Studios not seem to get this right? Apparently they've painted him too soft and not gritty enough according to Warren. While Punisher War Journal kept a fast pace of bloodshed and on-screen killings along with some pretty graphic scenes accompanied by heavy metal music, Warner says the fans are telling him they still have yet to see the Punisher.

While it is obvious we would not settle for anyone other than Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, and most would say they absolutely nailed Bruce Banner in Mark Ruffalo, Frank Castle (The Punisher) is still out there to be found. Meanwhile Chris Warner is jumping up and down, waving his hands saying, "Over here, guys!". And from what he's heard from the fans...they agree with him.
