Canadian Hero Fund Donates UFC 149 Tickets to Deserving Soldier
The Canadian Hero Fund donated a pair of tickets to UFC 149 in Calgary to a deserving soldier located on base in Alberta.
“Everyone at Hero Fund is delighted that we were able to thank a deserving soldier for their service with these tickets,” said Michael Ball, Executive Director of Hero Fund. “It’s a great step to build relationships with those in active service and the UFC, which has been an important supporter of ours.”
“I am appreciative to the Canadian Hero Fund for the tickets to UFC 149. The tickets were a welcomed surprise and the night was great,” said Sgt Melcher, the recipient of Hero Fund’s tickets.
Alberta talk show host Dave Rutherford hosted the Fund’s Chairman and President Timothy Peters on airwaves in the run-up to the event to discuss UFC 149 and Hero Fund’s on-going work, allowing Hero Fund’s message to reach thousands of Albertans.
The event took place before 16,089 fans in Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome. UFC returns to Canada on September 22nd, for UFC 152 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
