Green Grant Awarded to Helena's Cleaners

Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Helena’s Cleaners of Seattle, Washington had been searching for a cleaning solution that wasn’t a lesser of two evils. In their words, “Kreussler made that a reality. SYSTEMK4 was the piece of the puzzle that we needed: to be one with the environment, create a better workplace, and feel better about our end product.” Helena’s Cleaners converted their cleaning to SYSTEMK4 in July of this year.

SYSTEMK4, manufactured in Germany includes four unique products for dry cleaning, SOLVONK4 (a halogen-free solvent), a brushing agent, a detergent concentrate and a water and stain repellant agent.  The basic component of SYSTEMK4 is formed in such a way that it poses no threat to the air, water, people or soil. And here lies the caveat of SYSTEMK4: the solvent SOLVONK4 has the same cleaning effect as perchloroethylene or PERC, and in many cases exceeds it. SOLVONK4 is neither a hazardous material nor a hazardous substance. These environmentally friendly products enable Helena’s Cleaners to meet the variety of cleaning needs that today’s textiles require in a safe and more efficient process.

Helena’s Cleaners is unique because they received EnviroStar grant money from King County for their SYSTEMK4 upgrade. The EnviroStars Program was created in King County, Washington in 1995. “The mission of EnviroStars is to provide assistance and incentives for smaller businesses to reduce hazardous materials and waste, in order to protect public health, municipal systems, and the environment.” EnviroStar supports environmentally responsible businesses like Helena’s Cleaners.

First launched in 2010 in Milan, Italy, SYSTEMK4 has met with an incredibly positive global response for its cleaning capabilities. The unique and highly effective system has a world-wide patent pending for all component products and technical systems characteristics.
