Aug. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- The clock’s ticking for entries to be submitted for consideration into the ‘Pride & Joy’ car auctions at either CarFest South on 25th and 26th August or CarFest North on 8th and 9th September.

Owners thinking of entering their vehicle now need to act fast, as the catalogues close on 8th August and 17th August respectively for the sales hosted by Silverstone Auctions and there is only room for 25 cars on each day.

“The auctions at CarFest are set to be among the most high profile sales taking place this year, so anyone wishing to benefit from having their pride and joy included in the sales need to act fast,” said Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions.

The auctions themselves are raising money for BBC Children in Need with 100 percent of the profits from the sale going to the charity.

And those lucky enough to beat the entry deadline for one of the auctions will benefit from the huge pre-event exposure that is sure to come with the high profile events and help to secure the best possible price for their car.

There is also a pair of free CarFest day tickets for every vehicle consigned into the auction. To find out more information about entering a vehicle, terms and conditions, then please visit www.silverstoneauctions.com/carfest or call one of the team at Silverstone Auctions on 01926 691 141.

Cars already entered include a 1963 Lotus Elan Series 1, a 1964 VW Split Screen Dormobile Campervan, a 1983 Porsche 924 Carrera GT, a 1995 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 550 Twin Supercharged and a 2005 Ford GT.

Meanwhile, the weekend themselves, which are the brainchild of TV and radio presenter and famous car-nut Chris Evans, are proving immensely popular, meaning thousands of visitors will be able to see and bid on the cars being offered for sale.

Nick added: “I would strongly urge anyone who thinks their car is eligible for entry into one of the auctions to contact Silverstone Auctions as a matter of urgency to avoid possible disappointment.

“CarFest is one of this summer’s hottest events and Silverstone Auctions is in the thick of the action. It promises to be a great occasion and it’s all in aid of a very worthy cause.”

Apart from the charity car auctions, CarFest boasts some top quality rock ‘n’ roll, with headline acts Texas and Razorlight. There’s also plenty of other motoring action with a hill climb sprint and the chance to see a host of classic and modern cars in the car galleries.

Also adding to the family weekend are air displays, arena shows and a fabulous food festival.

CarFest South is at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, owned by 1979 Formula 1 World Champion Jody Scheckter, while CarFest North is at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire.
