EasyStreet® Online Services Inc. has been selected by prime contractor Harris Corporation to provide the Cloud infrastructure for the state of Oregon Health Information Exchange (HIE). Known as CareAccord™ and administered by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon’s statewide HIE will promote improved communication between care providers, reduce duplicate orders and facilitate implementation of meaningful use requirements.
In order to host the Harris solution, EasyStreet passed a vigorous third-party audit and review to ensure the administrative, technical and physical security components of the HIE Cloud met HIPAA and HITECH Act requirements. EasyStreet has deployed two HIPAA-compliant private Clouds, one in its Beaverton data center, and the second in a partner data center in Spokane, Wash., to provide high-availability Disaster Recovery for the CareAccord HIE. The first HIE service offered is Harris' Direct Secure Messaging, which enables participants to securely send encrypted health information over the Internet. EasyStreet retained Coalfire, an independent IT audit and compliancy consulting firm, to verify its compliance with HIPAA and the HITECH Act.
