Last week we saw Daniel Footwear announce their favourite 10 designs created by talented hopefuls who have managed to land a spot in the competition shortlist. With a variety of detailed and creative designs which include both classic and fashion forward styles, the competition is looking to be a close one.
Molly James, 15, from Cheshire won last years ‘design a shoe’ competition and has recently seen her design in the flesh. Naming the winning footwear, ‘The Molly Court’, the enthusiastic youngster has had a dream come true. Molly’s self-designed court shoe is set to go on sale across the UK in autumn and will be priced at £299. Featuring a classic yet eye creating creation with a lace up side, the Molly Court is sure to be a popular option for women to sink their feet into this year. The 2011 winner states, ‘I eventually want to do something in design so the competition was a great opportunity and I’m really thrilled I won’.
Last year, thousands of entrants designed a pair of shoes in the hope to have their creations manufactured and sold at Daniel Footwear. The competition was open to two different age groups, one 6-11 and the other 12-16. The entrants were given the freedom to use their imagination to create a pair of shoes that will be adorned by fashion enthusiasts across the nation. Daniel Footwear gives talented young people the chance to showcase their work and get creative with the ‘design a shoe’ competition.
The final winner of the competition is set to be announced in the coming weeks when Daniel Buck, the managing director of Daniel Footwear, decides on his favourite design. The winning pair of shoes will then be manufactured in time to be sold to the nation in the S/S collection 2013. Help to sway the judge’s decision by visiting the Daniel Footwear Facebook page and liking and commenting on your favourite design.
