Little Ustaads news from Jaipur

Aug. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- The Little Ustaads of Jaipur are keen to come to class and have given it many nicknames like 'Music Class', 'Majira Class', 'Sa-Re-Ga-Ma Class' and 'Music-Please Class'.
A mini frenzy ensues when manjira and shakers are given out. Kids love these props that accompany the Prathana and Sargam song respectively. Excited expressions with mouths rounded with eagerness accompany the slow and fast shaking of the egg shaped colorful shakers.
 
Here are some fun feedback from our Parents:
•   Two and half year old Veda transformed her baby-muddha, a small cane stool, into her magical dhol one evening and played for her parents.
•    Four year old Shrivats has transformed from a shy, quiet child to one with leadership qualities , teaching others how to handle different instruments during the Jamming sessions, as he is moving on from one module of Little Ustaads to the next.
•    Shivika, three, falls asleep within minutes of her mom playing the soothing Little Ustaads Lullaby every night.
•   As a one year old, Keya wasn't much of a talker. Over a few sessions however she started to repeat words she learnt in class all the time, 'flute', 'tap' and 'bye' being  her favorites.
•   Rishit, who is now doing his 3rd Little Ustaads module, was visiting his grandparents in the summer and made them act like his students and he taught them Sargam and Teen Taal.

Kids are insisting on washing their hands on their own before a meal just like the song Khana Pina teaches and now know what colors the Indian National Flag has! Lot of our Little Ustaads are picking instruments to try out and take home from toy stores and spend time on their own exploring  the sounds of mini tablas, guitars, manjiras, ghoonghroos and the xylophone even outside of class. The sessions also help in inculcating values like sharing, and good habits like tidying up ones toys after playtime.
