AAMP of America™ – an industry leader in the mobile audio and electronics industry and parent company of seven top-selling brands – today officially celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding by Micah Ansley in 1987. At an intimate ceremony at the AAMP of America headquarters in Florida, company President and CEO, Ron Freeman, recounted the company’s history, recognized the many accomplishments of the company’s employees over the years, and praised the 12-volt retailers that helped make AAMP of America what it is today.
According to Freeman, “This is a very special day. Just 25 years ago, AAMP of America made its humble beginnings out of a small shop here in Clearwater. Today, not only is AAMP of America still here, we’re stronger than ever. The road has not been without challenges, hard work and heartbreak, but it’s also had amazing victories, deep camaraderie and lot of fun. Today, I would like to thank each and every employee of AAMP of America – current and past – for their considerable contributions. But, I would like to express my most sincere thanks to our customers – everybody from the mom-and-pop install shop to the large retail chain. These valued customers are the reason why we are here, and without their continued trust and support, we wouldn’t be here standing here today celebrating such a historic anniversary.”
Twenty-five years ago, AAMP of America opened its doors in Clearwater as a one-stop distributor of car audio installation supplies. The company grew quickly, and soon after launched its Stinger® brand of cable, interconnects and car audio electronics. By 2000, the company had expanded its in-house brand portfolio to include Peripheral®, Sound Quest® and Best Kits & Harnesses®. In 2006, AAMP of America began focusing heavily on shifting its corporate identity from being a products distributor to an industry-leading technology innovator and manufacturer of top-selling car audio and mobility products for the retail market. This strategy included such benchmarks as the acquisition of Select Products ® and Pacific Accessory Corporation®
(PAC), and the merging of PAC with the company’s Peripheral brand in 2008 to create the world's foremost OEM integration solutions provider. Additionally, in 2010 the company introduced its iSimple® brand into the consumer electronics retail channel to make it more accessible to a mass audience, and re-launched the Phoenix Gold® mobile brand after acquiring it from Washington-based home and car audio company Rodin. In 2011, AAMP of America acquired American International®
, giving the company domestic production capabilities and expanding its offerings of car audio installation products on a worldwide scale.
According to Freeman, “I’ve been with AAMP of America since its earliest days, and have seen it grow from a small-scale distributor into a world-class mobile and consumer electronics company. But, as proud as I am of our past, it’s the future of AAMP of America I’m most excited about. Today, AAMP of America is a manufacturer of innovative, cutting edge technologies and we are making significant investments to further that position. Our unique position as both a manufacturer and distributor gives us great insight into industry trends and consumer demands. Because of this, we are constantly pushing the envelope in terms of product development, sales strategy, marketing and technological innovation.”
In the next several months, AAMP of America will be opening a new engineering and R&D facility co-located at its Florida headquarters. Additionally, the company will be attending KnowledgeFest in August and the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January to showcase its brands, spotlight exciting new technologies and meet firsthand with business partners.About AAMP of America:
