-- In August, a mobile electronics store that has successfully adapted to changing technology and consumer demand is celebrating its 39th anniversary and going into its 40th year in business. Audio Electronics, a family-owned business that was founded in 1973, offers a range of car and truck customization services, including vehicle security systems, car audio, and remote car starters. As technology continued to advance in recent decades, the Indianapolis business began offering mobile navigation systems (GPS), car DVD system installation, and electronic device integration to meet the needs of its tech-savvy clientele.
The company has earned an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau primarily because of the length of time it has been in business and the fact that no customer complaints have been filed against it. Company president Robert Nevitt also attributes the longevity and growth of Audio Electronics to good customer service, quality assurance guarantees, and product diversification.
"When we saw how popular GPS devices were becoming," Nevitt said, "we added those to our product line and learned as much as we could about them. We also recognized that remote car starters and vehicle DVD systems were a promising market to get into, and that has proven to be the case." He said that the diversity of the company's product line, as well as its lifetime installation guarantee, are two key reasons the local store continues to attract new and repeat business in the area.
In addition to the company's involvement in business organizations, such as the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and the Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA), Audio Electronics is an active supporter of humanitarian causes.
Audio Electronics was started on August 3, 1973 and was incorporated in 1976. Serving Indianapolis and surrounding cities, the family-owned and -operated business sells and installs a variety of electronic systems for cars, trucks, and SUVs, including car audio, mobile video, GPS navigation systems, automatic car starters, and vehicle security systems.
