Ironman Triathlon
The 2012 Ironman U.S. Championship will take place on August 11, 2012. This race will be the first-ever Ironman competition to be held in the New Jersey/NYC metro region.

“Bringing the Ironman experience to the New York City metropolitan area will allow athletes to compete with the world’s most iconic skyline as their backdrop,” said Ben Fertic, Chief Executive Officer and President, World Triathlon Corporation. “With the collaboration of NY/NJ officials and New York City Triathlon organizers, we have created an urban course that will provide an unmatched experience for athletes and spectators.”

The 140.6-mile race will take place in parts of both New York City and New Jersey, making it the most metropolitan environment ever to host an Ironman. The course will include a 2.4-mile swim in the Hudson River; a 112-mile bike ride on the Palisades Parkway in Bergen and Rockland Counties; and a 26.2-mile run beginning in Fort Lee, New Jersey and finishing in Riverside Park in Manhattan.

Coldplay at IZOD Center
Coldplay's first North American tour in nearly three years includes a stop at the IZOD Center on August 3rd and August 4th at 7:00 pm.

The band is touring in support of its new RIAA-certified Platinum record, Mylo Xyloto, which has scored the most No. 1 rankings of any album this year worldwide, topping the charts in 34 countries to date. Mylo Xyloto's first two singles have received GRAMMY nominations - "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, and the Gold-certified "Paradise" for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

"The Biggest Fat Italian Wedding"
On Sunday, August, 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm, the Friends of the Fairview Senior Center Theatre and Company will present “The Biggest Fat Italian Wedding” at La Fortuna Restaurant, 430 Kamena Street in Fairview, New Jersey.

In this comical mock wedding, the men will be the bridal party and the women will be the groomsmen!
