July 27, 2012 - PRLog -- (Pompano Beach, FL – July 27, 2012)  For the elderly, a minor wound can become a major problem if not treated quickly or properly. Watch here as Steve Keough, CEO of pharmaCline LLC gives viewers tips about healthy living for their elderly loved ones on “The Balancing Act” on  Lifetime television http://www.thebalancingact.com/video/?v=3NFDDPEY903774.

The episode is the third segment in a 4-part series on Caregiver Aid.

Medications that work well in younger people may not work the same in older patients.  When an older individual suffers from serious wound or disease they are less likely to heal.

During the segment, Keough will discuss the challenges loved ones face when caring for their elderly family member’s wounds including: physical and psychological changes, the ability to recognize pain, and skin infection resistance.

Viewers will learn the top five rules in wound care and the importance of finding the most effective antibiotic.  Pharmacline’s TisseclinePlus,® designed for people who are slow healers, and Diabecline,® designed for Diabetics and Pre-diabetics can help prevent skin infections, are safe to use on sensitive skin types and contain vitamin D.

“Having a good understanding of how the body changes among the elderly is essential to providing effective and compassionate care,” said pharmaCline CEO Steve Keough. “The viewers of ‘The Balancing Act’ are leaders in caring for our elderly neighbors, and we are proud to be part of that effort.”

“It’s a pleasure to once again have pharmaCline on ‘The Balancing Act’ to talk to our Lifetime viewers about wound care for the elderly. Many of our viewers who are currently caring for a loved one will find this information essential to their daily living,” says Doug Campbell, Founder and Executive VP of Programming for “The Balancing Act.”

Stay tuned for the fourth and final segment in the series, Medicine Cabinet Makeover, which is scheduled to air in August.
