New version 11 adds to the product’s unrivalled range of PC monitoring, instant assessment and collaboration tools with over 200 new and updated features, and extends its range of supported platforms.

Keeping pace with the ever-changing IT landscape, the exciting news for schools currently investing in tablet-based technology is the introduction of an Apple iOS and Android-compatible ‘Tutor Assistant’ app.

For use in your existing NetSupport-managed classroom environment, the NetSupport Tutor Assistant is an extension to the traditional desktop Tutor application delivering greater mobility for teachers around the IT suite, and the ideal tool to allow teaching assistants to help with monitoring student progress. Apple iOS, Android tablet and smartphone-compatible and available as a free download from iTunes, Google Play and the Amazon app store, once installed on a device, the app pairs with the NetSupport desktop Tutor software, allowing teachers the freedom to move around the classroom, helping retain key control and monitoring of all student workstations.

Recognizing the value of assistants in the classroom, multiple devices can be used in a single class, ensuring all teaching staff can retain full visibility at all times.

The app utilizes NetSupport’s core classroom management technology, allowing a teacher, for example, to blank screens, lock student mice and keyboards, monitor activity on all student computers, control internet, application and printer usage as well as identify when a student needs help.

As well as providing the app for iPad, Android tablets and Kindle Fire, a version is also available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android smartphones. Working along similar lines to a  simple TV remote, this variant allows existing devices to be used where tablets are not available and offers one-click access to lock screens, control printing, internet and application use.
