Toronto, Ontario – On August 9th, 2012 the Ontario Association of the Deaf (OAD) will hold its third annual “Knickers” Charity Golf Tournament at the Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton. Approximately 50 golfers and the volunteer team will gather on the links for a round of golf, in support of the Deaf Community of Ontario.

“I am very excited for this opportunity to hold this unique event,” said Dean Walker Executive Director. “We are most fortunate to have such wonderful support for OAD and our tournament from different businesses and organizations in Ontario.”

This year, OAD is pleased to welcome the Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Hon. Kathleen Wynne, to the tournament. The Minister is a long-‐time supporter of Ontario’s Deaf Community.

The Ontario Association of the Deaf is Canada’s oldest Deaf non-‐profit consumer and advocacy organization. Founded in 1883, it works to ensure the equality and rights of Deaf Ontarians.
