Fourth of July firework accidents can lead to serious burn injuries

While the dust has settled on the July 4th fun, some patriotic Americans have nothing to celebrate

July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- With the July 4th officially over, we are left in awe of our great country.  It symbolizes the beginning of our nation, and the start of our freedom under British rule.  Specifically, on July 4, 1776,  we celebrate the independence of the greatest country in the world.  Some famous quotes from this historic day include:
   “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” (Elmer Davis)
   “I know not what the course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death” (Patrick Henry)
Sometimes, unfortunately this holiday explosive nature can lead to some deleterious effects.  Fireworks are dangerous, and have led to serious injuries, and even fatalities. Statistically, there are nearly 10,000 firework injuries every year, 69 percent of which occur on July 4th.  These injuries are also most prevalent in children under the age of fifteen.  Notably, amateurs are to blame for these harms, and are generally a result of:
   Firecrackers (1600 instances)
   Rockets (900 instances)
   Sparklers (1100 instances)
Other times though, firework can also be a result of poor management on the part of the controller, or negligence of the operator, or another person’s careless behavior .  They may be a result of a product defect of the mechanism as well.  Consequently, even if an individual has been acting cautiously around fireworks, you may have suffered  grave damage.
If you have suffered an injury as a result of someone else’s  improper use of fireworks, or as a result of a product defect, please call a burn injury attorney at http://www.downtownlalaw.com for more help.
