July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Homeschool advocate and small business owner Kevin Harper, through CollegePlusReviews.com and CollegePlusWebinar.com, is recommending that high school or college age students and their parents register for a free informative webinar series on career readiness July 26 through August 14, 2012.

The series, which is sponsored by CollegePlus, will provide information and discussion on numerous topics of interest to home schooling families. CollegePlus is a college coaching program popular in the homeschool community that helps students shorten the amount of time it takes to obtain an accredited college degree and drastically reduce the cost of completing college.

The program works by providing coaches to guide students through the process of completing their chosen degree. It also comes with career counseling from a Christian perspective called Life Purpose Planning, which helps students and their parents choose a career that is in keeping with the students interests and gifts.

Free registration for the CollegePlus Webinar is located at http://www.collegeplus.org/set_cookie?partnercode=884291.

Harper says that homeschoolers have for too long assumed that home education had to stop at the high school or college level. CollegePlus actually allows high school age students to get a head start on college, called "dual enrollment."

"When our teens reached high school age, my wife and I started intensely researching how we were going to approach college in a way that would work for our family. We were introduced to the concept of credit-by-exam through a book called 'College Without Compromise,' and after doing more research settled on a coaching program called CollegePlus to facilitate a lot of the legwork needed to complete a degree independently."

“With the student loan crisis looming on the horizon, we're thrilled to be counseling our teens away from institutions that will saddle them with tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. The College Experience just doesn't have to be that way.”

He says two of his own teens are more than halfway through their bachelor degrees, and will graduate from college debt free, one with a degree in Business Management, and the other with a degree in Communications.
