Shooting In colarado - Is Autism Known?

The Shooting In colarado and Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough‘ comment about Autism and 50 cent's twitter comment a few weeks ago Made myself a Autistic Tv host and movie producer Decide to teach people what autism is

July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- This week Has been a Tumult as emotions Arise surrounding the shocking shootout at a movie theatre in Colorado but the story around the shootout was not the main tumult but rather the outrage of Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough‘  comment about Autism which made me think

A few weeks ago a similar outrage was made when the rap singer “50 cent” commented on his twitter to an obviously autistic boy “I don’t want no special Ed on my page follow someone else”

Both stories a few weeks after one another both in the US

How much is Autism awareness known in the US?!!

Let me teach you a bit

Let me tell you a bit about myself I am a 25 year old boy who has Asperger’s Syndrome.

I am also a Host on Shekel’s Extraordinary TV Show

To explain about the show
"The mission of the show is to shed new light on the reality of people with functioning difficulties: physical, emotional, mental and sensory. - We strive to positively highlight people coping with their difficulties. Emphasis is placed on films focusing on opportunities for self-fulfillment and inclusion in social and cultural life in Israel and around the world.
The show is produced and filmed etc by a group of residents of Shekel organization for People with special needs.
To explain about Shekel

SHEKEL-Community Services for People with Special Needs is an NGO in Israel caring for 8000 people, Jews and Arabs, with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. SHEKEL develops and operates programs and services to enable people with disabilities to live, work and participate in activities in the community rather than be shut away in institutions. SHEKEL's main programs are group homes, vocational rehabilitation, clubs and extra-curricular activities, accessibility, rehabilitation of the homeless, trauma treatment for victims of violence and child development. At SHEKEL we believe that people with disabilities have the right to live with dignity and honor in the community and it is society's obligation to provide the programs and services for them to do so, and help them achieve self-fulfillment and self-determination."

I was born in 1986 in Sunderland, UK, the 7th child of 14 of an Orthodox Jewish family.  At the age of 3 his family moved to Manchester.  At the age of 10 I was diagnosed with Asperger’s, a syndrome on the autism spectrum.  Despite my disability, I went to regular schools and graduated with honors at the age of 16 from Manchester Mesivta School.  I then began working at restaurants as a cook.

At the age of 18, I moved to Israel for personal reasons.  After several traumatic experiences at private hostels, I found SHEKEL which I describe as the first place I’ve felt at home in Israel.

Around that time I found myself unexpectedly on Israeli’s popular TV show “Cash Cab” and had my “15 minutes of fame."  After the show was broadcast, I was told how well I did and how photogenic I was.  I saw this as an opportunity to “show the world that people with disabilities can succeed in the world of communications” and joined SHEKEL’s TV show.

Very quickly I learned the field and a year ago opened on the side my own production company called Jaro Movies and I am very active in the Asperger’s awareness and support groups worldwide.

I am not the only successful person with Autism.

Looking back we see many Successful singers, scientists, professors’ etc

Professor Temple Grandin for Example a extraordinary Woman is an American doctor of animal science and professor at Colorado State University, bestselling author, and consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior. As a person with high-functioning autism, Grandin is also noted for her work in autism advocacy and is the inventor of the squeeze machine, designed to calm hypersensitive people.

Ari Ne'eman is an American autism rights activist who cofounded the Autistic Self Advocacy Network in 2006. On December 16, 2009 President Barack Obama announced that Ari Ne'eman would be appointed to the National Council on Disability. After an anonymous hold was lifted, Ne'eman was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate to serve on the Council on June 22, 2010. He currently chairs the Council's Policy & Program Evaluation Committee. Ne'eman has a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome, making him the first person with an autistic spectrum disorder to serve on the council.

James Durbin (born January 6, 1989) is an American singer and guitarist from Santa Cruz, California, who finished in fourth place on the tenth season of American Idol.

And many other’s

Rumors even state American’s Magnate and Microsoft Founder Bill Gates and Facebook’s Founder Mark Zucherberg all Have Asperger’s something which is possible but never proved.

In my work I see a lot of people with disabilities notice People with disabilities use their strength in order to overcome their personal Difficulties and bring out their talents

In my Thinking I believe  People around the world have to take these two Stories and learn about people with Autism Respect them as those people could become someone who you would want to know one day Take half a hour a week and do some research that isn’t so difficult is it?

Remember this Important Rule “we never chose Autism it chose us but we use this Autism to bring out our Talents.
