-- Naperville, IL – Space Colony Earth announced plans to place on the moon in 2018 a modern day version of the ark. The Lunar Ark will house an Earth ARKhive, a copy of an extensive digital library of science and technology information as well as physical DNA from people, animals, plants, and microbes. It will also provide a communication relay system should satellite- and Earth-based communications be damaged by solar flares or other unforeseen events.
“The Lunar Ark is a part of our back-up plan for Earth,” said Steve Lynch, founder of the project, “something many top scientists, including the late Carl Sagan, have warned for decades should be done.”
Working with members of their distinguished board of advisors, Space Colony Earth is currently concluding agreements for the design and construction of the Lunar Ark. Details of these arrangements will be released in the coming weeks.
The company’s plans also include a network of Earth Ark sites—secure underground sites that will provide Earth-based storage of copies of the Earth ARKhives on five continents, all linked to the Lunar Ark.
