July 25, 2012 - PRLog -- 7/25/12 - If the only “sure things” in life are death, taxes and the price of oil going up, then you won’t want to miss the upcoming Alternative Fueled Vehicle Road Show, that’s headed to Florida for an 8-city tour, beginning September 10th.

The 3-hour event showcases options for drivers and businesses to save money when powering their vehicles with biofuels, propane, natural gas and electricity.  A hybrid Chevy Volt, bi-fuel Ford Fusion, propane-fueled truck , CNG school bus, and the all-electric Nissan Leaf, are just a few of the vehicles that will be on display in each city, followed by a roundtable presentation covering each technology.

The Tour, originated in Georgia in 2011, and led by Georgia Public Service Commission Chairman, Tim Echols, has traveled across the state to educate consumers and businesses on the different options and alternatives to gasoline-powered cars and trucks. According to Echols, "When you begin to move a bus fleet, 18-wheelers, or taxi cabs over, then you to displace a lot of traditional fuel. And I'm for any and all folks being able to take advantage of it, if it works for you.”

In Florida, the Tour is teaming up with the Florida Public Service Commission’s Chairman Ronald Brisé and regional Clean Cities Coalitions to present the series to business and municipal fleet managers, general public and legislators who want to learn the basics and the economics of transitioning to alternative-fuel options. “We all talk about being “energy voters” but business and government leaders need to know what that really means, and how it impacts their bottom-line investments” says Joy Kramer, Tour Director and CEO of AdVentures, a green-events and media relations firm. “Domestic natural gas, propane, E-V, and biofuels are all viable options today, and this Tour carries that message forward.”

The AFV Roadshow Tour will stop in St. Petersburg and Tampa, September 10-11, Orlando and Daytona, September 12-14, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, September 17-18,  Tallahassee and Jacksonville, September 20-21.  The events are free and open to the public.
