BCM announced its Intel Q77 PCH based mATX and ATX motherboards support 22nm Intel Core i7/i5/i3 CPU

July 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Irvine, California, July 17, 2012 - BCM Advanced Research, an Associate level member of the Intel® Intelligent Systems Alliance and a leading supplier of industrial motherboards and systems, today introduces its new BC77Q ATX and RX77Q mATX motherboards. Both motherboards are equipped with the new Intel® Q77 Express chipset and socket H2 LGA 1155 to support the 22nm 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor family previously codenamed “Ivy Bridge.” This platform provides significant improvement in processing power and video performance over previous generations with a key feature enhancement enabling the system to support 3 onboard independent displays while maintaining quality performance and keeping the maximum TDP under 95 watts.

The BC77Q and RX77Q motherboards both support 3rd generation Intel Core processors. Architectural and manufacturing process changes to this processor family include 22nm process technology and the introduction of 3D Tri-Gate transistors. The 3rd generation Intel Core processor technology will provide up to a 37 percent performance increase while consuming 50% less power versus previous platforms. Additionally, coupled with the Intel® Q77 Express chipset enables support for three independent displays via Display Port (DP), DVI, HDMI or VGA ports with DX11, OCL1.1, OGL3.1 for rich HD/3D content compared to the previous generation that can only support up to two independent onboard graphic outputs.

Both the BC77Q and RX77Q provide four DIMM slots and support up to 32 GB dual channel DDR3-1600 and DDR3-1333 system memory. Both boards also provide dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces from an Intel controller as well as a broad selection of expansion slots and rich IO interfaces.

Both the BC77Q and RX77Q support Intel® Active Management Technology 8.0 which is only available for Intel® 7 series chipsets.  Additionally, both motherboards support the newer generation operating systems such as Microsoft 32/64-bit Win Vista, Win 7 and Win 8.

Other new key features worth mentioning about the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ platform include Intel® Rapid Start Technology and Intel® Smart Response Technology providing faster and more stable communications when accessing SSD drive with enhanced RAID support. Along with Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, this platform provides Intel® OS Guard and Intel® Secure Key which will double-up hardware based system security for those applications where high level security is required.
