Story teaches mentors-to-be a model for mentoring, coaching and guiding children and teens

KidsWin publishes a framework for mentoring and encouraging children and teens that is practical, easy to remember and can be put into practice immediately.

July 24, 2012 - PRLog -- WESTBOROUGH, MA -- There are children and teens who are struggling, who need the guidance and support of a caring adult and there are many adults with good intentions who hesitate to help because they don’t know what to do or the best way to go about it. “Our goal in writing Please Encourage Me is to share a framework for encouraging and supporting young people that is practical, easy to remember and can be put into practice immediately” says Margot Rutledge, author of Please Encourage Me and Founder of KidsWin, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and teens realize their value and reach their potential.

Margot’s passion grew out of personal experience. As a teenager and young adult, she doubted herself and wondered if she had the ability to achieve her dreams. Then she had the opportunity to participate in experiences that allowed her to take risks in a safe and supportive environment, in the presence of strong and caring mentors, and she developed skills and competencies she had never thought possible. She began to believe in herself and in her ability to accomplish anything she set her mind to. Margot founded KidsWin to give to children and teens what it took her until she was twenty-eight years old to begin to feel and experience.

KidsWin offers a collection of tools and strategies to help children and teens thrive. The organization was founded on the belief that children and teens have the ability to achieve and contribute great things; often more than they believe is possible for them, given the right tools and ongoing support and nurturing by the adults in their world.

Margot Rutledge is an accomplished facilitator, trainer and coach. Her life’s work is to help young people realize their value and their potential and to support parents and educators who want to help children and teens thrive.
