Girls4Science to Host Summer Science Social at Museum of Science & Industry

Events Supports Programs to Stimulate Girls Interest in STEM
July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- Girls4Science (G4S) will have their 4th annual Summer Science Social on Saturday, August 11, at the Museum of Science & Industry. Guests will enjoy remarks from Megan Montgomery, Assistant Chief Pilot at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. G4S will also host a science poster contest and recognize participants for their participation in the Saturday Science Academy. At the conclusion of the event guests will have the opportunity to participate in various hands-on activities around the museum in order to gain insight into science and technology through exposure to scientific artifacts that allow them to look at science through a wider spectrum.

About Girls4Science
Girls4Science is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing girls in Chicago, ages 10-18, to science, technology, engineering and math. G4S focuses on developing skills, self-esteem, awareness and relationships to help girls overcome barriers that may prevent them from achieving greater success in these fields. To date almost 300 girls have participated in G4S’s programs and these numbers continue to rise.
